Fungarium

Wrapped in Nature

Profile:

Fungarium has the goal of industrializing and automating the production of mycelium-based composites for the packaging market and further disrupt other markets with its novel applications.

Mycelium is a root-like structure of a fungus consisting of a mass of branching, thread-like hyphae. Fungal colonies composed of mycelium are found in and on soil and many other substrates. Mycelium is a primary factor in a plant's health, nutrient intake, and growth, with mycelium being a major factor to plant fitness.

Fungarium engineers an automatized production of mycelium material to supply as many retailers and customers as possible while keeping human and energy costs low. Its goal is to create value and profits from a sustainable product developing a unique circular business model. Fungarium understands the challenges in creating a novel production process, but the opportunity to be the first industrial provider of such material and capitalize on the transformation of a sustainable circular economy are worth it.

The strong collaboration with our suppliers and customers requires a strong local involvement and good handling of public/political image. Fungarium wants to be a beacon of the circular economy transformation, giving regional, sustainable, and affordable products. Fungarium is an action towards sustainability and towards a circularity in the economy, it is a organic statement towards the greener future.
